Engineer Seun Fakorede, the commissioner for youth and sports in Oyo State, has said that the government will soon announce the recipients of awards for the outstanding young people in the state.
Hon Fakorede stated this During a special meeting with members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) to prepare for the International Youth Week program in his office.
Earlier in his remarks, the head of the Youth Council, Mr. Abdul Quardri Abdulsalam, praised the State Government, led by Engineer Seyi Makinde, for its significant investment in the activities of the Youths and praised a recent initiative to recognize outstanding Young people in the State who are excelling in their respective fields as a sincere step in the right direction.
However, he urged the State Government to continue announcing and funding youth-focused programs.
The 8th through the 14th of August 2022 will see the International Youth Week program at the American Corner in Ibadan, with the subject “Intergenerational Solidarity: Creating a world for ages.”
The Special Assistant to the Governor on Inter-Faith Reverend Femi Ibikunle and the Executive Secretary of the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, Mrs. A.O Adegbola, to name a few, were among those in attendance at the NYCN, Oyo State Chapter meeting.
