Oyo state House of Assembly says the 9th assembly under the speakership of Mr Adebo Ogundoyin has passed ninety seven out of one hundred and eight bills into law during it’s four year tenure
The assembly also disclosed that one hundred and twenty motions, thirty matters of urgent public importance and ninety-four oversight functions were carried out during 9th assembly
Chairman, house committee on special duties, Mr Lateef Adebunmi who gave the data while giving legacy report of the activities of the outgoing assembly highlighted legislative autonomy, constituency empowerments, renovation of projects and the commencement of live streaming of plenary as some of the achievements of the outgoing assembly.
While giving recommendations of the committee, Mr Adebunmi who represents Oorelope state constituency appealed to the incoming 10th assembly to give priority to implementation of laws formulated by the floor
The outgoing lawmakers later took turn to express mixed feelings on their experiences on legislative duties and cordial relationship enjoyed during the 9th assembly
In a remark, the speaker, Mr Adebo Ogundoyin said the 9th assembly has broken past records of achievements in the history of the State legislature.
Mr Ogundoyin commended the State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde for not only supporting the legislature in all its activities but believing in the capacity of the lawmakers.
Meanwhile, the Inauguration of the 10th Oyo state house of assembly has been scheduled to hold next week Wednesday
