Oyo 2023: INEC Fixes Time To Begin Final Collation Of Results From 33 LGAs

The final collation and announcement of results from thirty three Local governments for Saturday’s governorship and house of assembly elections in Oyo state is to commence this morning by 9 O’Clock.

The collation which was supposed to begin at the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC state office, Ibadan was rescheduled to commence today because of the late arrival of the results from the local governments.

Oyo state returning officer and vice chancellor, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta FUNAAB Professor Olusola Kehinde is expected to conduct the collation process and announce the winner at the end of the exercise.

Meanwhile, the resident electoral commissioner in Oyo state, Dr Adeniran Tella expressed satisfaction on the level of performance of the commission’s technological device, BVAS And logistics during the governorship and house of assembly elections.

Dr Tella said the functionality of the BVAS machines which was deployed by the commission under improved electoral process worked perfectly without any hitch.

Our correspondent who was on the entourage of the resident electoral commissioner to monitor the exercise across Ibadan metropolis reports that there were low turnout of voters during the polls.
