Following the persistence of the deposed Onido, Benjamin Ademola Isola Orobiyi for reinstatement by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Sen. Lekan Balogun CFR, Alli Okunmade II, the matter was on Thursday referred to the Olubadan Advisory Council for adjudication.
Chief Isola, it would be recalled was deposed by the then Olubadan of Ibadanland, the late Oba Samuel Odulana Odugade 1 over some actions considered inconsistent with the Ibadan traditional institution and Tajudeen Agura was installed to replace him.
The crisis rocking the ancient and agrarian Ibadan community did not abate as Chief Agura also suffered the same fate that befell his predecessor during the reign of the immediate past Olubadan, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso 1 following which the present Onido, Oba Gbolagade Muritala Babalola was installed.
However, the current Onido, Oba Babalola is currently on suspension on the order of the state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE over an alleged involvement in illegal mining activities. The suspension was to give room for unhindered investigation.
The deposed Isola, who led some members of the community to Olubadan yesterday reiterated his earlier apology tendered to the late Oba Odulana but which was not considered and promised to repeat same which Oba Balogun said would be referred to his Council for adjudication.
Olubadan emphasized that whatever position taken on the matter by his Advisory Council would be upheld and the matter permanently laid to rest.
