New INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner Assumes Duty In Ekiti

Dr Olubunmi Omoseyindemi has assumed duty as the new INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in Ekiti State

Dr Omoseyindemi who hails from Lagos State assumed duty on Wednesday at INEC state office in Ado Ekiti with warm welcome by the management team led by the Administrative Secretary, Mr Adedapo Aderibigbe.

Dr. Omoseyindemi while emphasizing the importance of integrity, trust, and teamwork, urged the members of staff to adhere to the core values of INEC while carrying out their duties.

The new REC later held meetings with the management team, the 16 Electoral Officers, and was later conducted round the offices by the Administrative Secretary. Mr Aderibigbe.

Recall that President Bola Tinubu, in October 2023 appointed nine new Resident Electoral Commissioners for the Independent National Electoral Commission for a term of five years each, subject to the confirmation of the Senate.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, revealed this in a statement titled ‘President Tinubu appoints nine INEC resident electoral commissioners.’

The new RECs were Mr Isah Ehimeakne (Edo State), Mr Bamidele Agbede (Ekiti State), Mr Jani Bello (Gombe State), Dr Taiye Ilayasu (Kwara State), Dr Bunmi Omoseyindemi (Lagos State) among others
