Moro Traditional Council Rejects Prince Oyeyemi’s Selection As Monarch · Says “Kingmakers Were Manipulated Due To Incapability To Read And Write”
The Moro Community, led by the Olumoro-in-Council in Ife-North local government area of Osun State has rejected the purported selection of Prince Oyeyemi Gideon as the next monarch for the town.
The Oosa of Moro land, High Chief Festus Abidoye during a News Conference on behalf of the community appealed to the State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi to reverse the selection.
Chief Abidoye noted that the people of the community home and in the diaspora are not interested in any individual like Prince Adebayo who did not possess any quality of a leader required to attain the desired growth for the town.
The Ooosa of Moro, also demanded on behalf of the community that tSelectionhe government should initiate a fresh process to ensure fairness and transparency.
The Olumoro-in-Council however appealed with the people of the community, especially the youth to remain calm, peaceful and law-abiding, while emphasising that there should be no room for mayhem.
“We appeal to every son and daughter of Moro that Moro remains our home, nobody should toy with it. Government is capable of handling what Moro wants. There should be no cause for mayhem, whereby we need to remain as peace keepers and lawful citizens,” Chief Adebayo said.
Speaking, the Loogun of Moro, Chief Olalekan Obisakin alleged that the kingmakers were manipulated due to their incapability to read and write and they were made to vote against their wish.
Also in a remark, the Youth Leader, Moro, Mr Elijah Olajide who led his counterparts to the venue of the News conference for a peaceful protest, called on all the consenting authorities to reverse the selection of Prince Adebayo.
