The arrest of the assailants of St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo has been confirmed by the Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
The revelation was made by Governor Akeredolu when he received the Ondo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, led by the Chairman Comrade Leke Adegbite.
General Lucky Irabor, the Chief of Defence Staff, had earlier made the news in Abuja, and the Governor later confirmed it.
Governor Akeredolu disclosed that the owner of the house where the attackers stayed before the June 5 attack in Owo had also been arrested
He said that government did not spare a moment in trailing the terrorists behind the Owo church attack.
Meanwhile the Governor has sent a warning to leaders of the Ebira community in the state to caution their youths against venturing into kidnapping.
The Governor said recent reports from victims of kidnap in the state had established that some Ebira youths were part of the kidnap ring terrorising the state.
In a remark ,The Ondo NUJ Chairman , Comrade Adegbite thanked the Governor for his efforts in ensuring that security of lives of the people of the state.
The NUJ Chairman also appreciated the Governor for the approval of the Weigh-in allowance for journalists and information officers working in the State and Local government service.
