Oyo State Governor,Engineer Seyi Makinde has sworn-in eight new judges into the High Court and two judges into the Customary Court of Appeal for an improved judiciary system of the state.
Speaking at the swearing- in ceremony held at the Executive Chamber, Governor’s Office, Ibadan, Governor Makinde noted that the ceremony gave a reminder of checks and balances, being the features of democracy.
While charging the new judges to perform optimally, the governor said his administration would deploy more technologies, innovation and traffic systems against traffic law offenders.
Earlier, the Chief judge of Oyo State, Justice Iyabo Yerima who commended the secretary of the National Judiciary Council for scrutiny of the new judges, described the ceremony a landmark achievement in Oyo State and a milestone to the State judiciary as fifteen judges have been sworn-in till date.
Justice Yerima enjoined the new judges to remain steadfast, honest, dedicated and ready for challenges.
Some of the new judges include Mr Adesina Jimoh Adam, and Mr Oyediran Safia Amope.
