Oyo state Chairman, local government staff pensions board, Hon Akeem Ademola Ige has commended governor Seyi Makinde for the construction and commission of the local government service commission house and staff training school building.
Hon Ige who is a former Oyo assembly lawmaker made the commendation while speaking with newsarena.ng after the commissioning of the edifice by Governor Makinde on Wednesday.
Ige explained that the inauguration of the building was a landmark achievement for the administration of governor Seyi Makinde
While describing Governor Makinde as a personality who has standard and taste for quality delivery said the ministry of local government, its service commission and local government staff pensions board will be occupants of the edifice.
He said “I want to tell you that we’ll make good use of the building and the equipment in it so that it will serve the purpose it was built for and to enhance the productivity of our staff.
“I feel highly delighted because the place we occupied before, we’re tenant there, for almost 42 years, the local government service commission did not have an office, my own office as a chairman of the board, I did not have toilet, you can imagine.”
Speaking on the conversion of Ad-hoc workers to permanent staff, Hon. Ige said the announcement made by the governor was a cheering and good news to people of Oyo state
“For the past eight years, there was no recruitment exercise in the local government system, even throughout the administration of Senator Abiola Ajimobi, that’s a good news for us and I’m happy.”
