The Oyo state House of Assembly has passed into law N310.4 billion Appropriation Bill 2023.
During its Thursday plenary session, the house also passed the Finance and Appropriations bills 2023.
While recurrent expenditure stands at N155, 677, 133, 034.38, capital expenditure stands at N154, 755, 366, 965.62. A total sum of N13.4 billion (N13, 490, 413, 715.00) was appropriated for the Office of the Governor.
One billion naira each was appropriated for Oke-ogun Polytechnic Saki and Emmanuel Alayande University, Oyo.
The state Assembly after receiving the report of House Committee on Public Account, Finance and Appropriation, chaired by Honourable Akeem Olawale Mustapha, accepted and passed the Oyo state appropriation bill 2023 into law.
Speaking after the passage of the 2023 budget, Speaker of the house, Mr Adebo Ogundoyin said the house would monitor the budget through effective oversight function and ensure its full implementation
It would be recalled that the Governor of the state, Seyi Makinde, had earlier in September presented a N310 billion budget to the House for legislative consideration and approval.
The passage of the 2023 Appropriation bill into law by the House indicates that there is no significant difference between the original appropriation presented by the governor and the amended version by the house.
