Oyo state house of assembly has confirmed the nomination of Justice Iyabo Yerima as the chief Judge of the state.
The confirmation followed the recommendation of the house committee on public petition and judiciary after due screening in Pursuant to a Directive of the House on Thursday, 6th April, 2023.
Yerima has been in acting capacity since 16th January 2023 when Justice Muntar Abimbola bowed out of the Bench.
At a plenary presided by the deputy speaker of the house, Mr. Abiodun Fadeyi the chairman house committee on petitions and judiciary, Mr Mustapha said after thorough screening of Justice Iyabo Yerima, the Committee found her appointable.
While addressing Lawmakers, Justice Yerima said she will do her best to ensure a better judiciary system in Oyo State.
