Kennedy Ibe, the Speaker of the House of Assembly for the Imo State, has resigned.
On Monday, Mr. Ibe submitted his resignation during a special session of the legislature at the state house of the assembly complex.
He claims that his choice was made after extensive discussion with his family and political allies.
Ibe claimed that it is also in the best interests of the All Progressives Congress (APC) political family in Imo State for him to quit as Speaker of the House of Assembly.
However, he reaffirmed his unwavering support for the Imo State legislature, the state administration, and the APC.
The new Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly has been sworn in as Emeka Nduka, a member from the Ehime Mbano state constituency.
