Junior Chamber International (JCI) Ibadan Elite has launched a free medical outreach, tagged Elite Health Drive, to provide basic healthcare services and promote preventive healthcare among residents of Omiyale Community, Oja Oba, Ibadan.
The outreach, organised as part of JCI Ibadan Elite’s efforts to improve access to basic healthcare for underserved communities, provided beneficiaries with free blood pressure, blood sugar and malaria tests, eye screening, and health education to promote healthy living and the early detection of common illnesses.
JCI Ibadan Elite president, JCI Ambassador Ibukunoluwa Otesile during the program, said that the initiative supported by JCI and the Crocodile Foundation, was aimed at creating awareness of the importance of regular medical check-ups while improving the well-being of vulnerable members of the community.
She said the programme reflects its commitment to community development through sustainable projects that improve access to quality healthcare and enhance the quality of life of residents.
Otesile also noted that national development is not the responsibility of the government alone. According to her, citizens also have an important role to play in building a functional and progressive country.
Ambassador Ibukunoluwa Otesile therefore encouraged members of the public to support like-minded initiatives that promote positive change, stressing that collective efforts from both the government and the people are essential for sustainable development.
