The Independent National Electoral Commission has said that the procedure for transmission of results remain sacrosanct as it was done in the recent elections held in Ekiti and Osun State.
This is contained in a statement signed by the national commissioner and head, Information and voter education of the commission, Festus Okoye on Sunday.
Okoye said the attention of the Commission has been drawn to a misunderstanding arising from a recent short interview done on a national daily on the procedure of result management during election.
He said some nigerians have interpreted the publication to mean that the Commission has jettisoned the electronic transmission of result.
Okoye said the electronic transmission of result has come to stay saying “it adds to the credibility and transparency of election process.”
