Hajj: “Poor, Strange Meal” – NAHCON Petitions Saudi Authority

National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON says it has petitioned the Saudi Arabia Authority over poor feeding of Nigerian pilgrims at this year’s hajj exercise.

Chairman NAHCON, Alhaji Zikrullah Hassan stated this in the holy land while addressing the pilgrims.

Obviously not satified with the development, Alhaji Hassan explained that a petition had been forwarded to Saudi authorities for refund of money on the poor and strange meals served the pilgrims.

He explained that the commission was not responsible for provision of food in Muna.

He further noted that ” Nigerians are Nigerians, it doesn’t matter the sophistication of the environment, they always preferred their local foods. But, we are not in control in Muna this year, it’s strictly the responsibilities of the host and the authorities.

He said “I’ve passed the information to Saudi that what our people want is Nigerian food and nothing more”.

Alhaji Hassan who attributed the delayed flights and how efforts to bring other Nigerians to the holy was unsuccessful to the emergency nature of this year’s Hajj as the Commission had only 3 months to prepare.

” You should remember that I said it at the pre-Hajj preparations that this year’s exercise is emergency Hajj, therefore, the pilgrims should bear with us as we are working hard to address noticeable lapses.” He explained

It was gathered that Nigerian pilgrims in all camps visited at the ongoing hajj exercise complained of poor feeding services and absence of local meals at their tents in Muna
