Fire Wrecks Havoc At Ibadan Market

Goods worth several millions of naira have been destroyed by a fire outbreak at Labaowo, Ogunpa area of Agbokojo, Ibadan.

The fire outbreak which occurred in the early hours of Friday burnt items such as concrete mixers, mattresses, equipment used for automobile repairs among others

Narrating his ordeal to Radio Nigeria, a victim who specializes in the repair of car shaft, Mr Abdul-Jelil Oladimeji said his equipments worth several millions of naira have been lost to the fire.

Speaking on the cause of the fire outbreak, Chairman, traders association in the market, Mr Azeez Ibrahim who quoted the night guard overseeing the stores, alledged that the fire outbreak occurred as a result of surge during power supply to the area.

Mr Ibrahim said many concrete mixers and their engines were destroyed in the inferno.

Mr Oladimeji and Ibrahim appealed to government to consider the current economic crises and come to their rescue.
