Fayemi Denies Dissolution Of Cabinet, Directs Commissioners, Cabinet Members To Remain In Office Till…
Dr. Kayode Fayemi, the governor of Ekiti State, has instructed the commissioners and cabinet members to carry out their official duties to the very last day of the administration on October 15.
During the farewell assembly for members of the state executive council and those who served between 2010 and 2014 during his first term in office, the governor issued the order in Ado Ekiti.
The chief press secretary to the governor, Mr. Yinka Oyebode, said in a statement in Ado Ekiti that Dr. Fayemi had not disbanded his cabinet as some media outlets had said, but had instead simply conducted a final meeting with the cabinet members.
Governor Fayemi thanked all the past and current members of the Council for their sacrifices, patriotism, diligence and committment to the development of the state.
He noted that Ekiti State made appreciable improvement in all aspects of development, through the collective contributions of members of the Council.
In their brief remarks, members of the cabinet spoke about their experiences in the highest decision making body of the state, thanked the Governor for the opportunity given to them to contribute their quota to the development of the state.
The Governor later adjourned the council meeting *sine die* marking the end of the weekly meetings of the state til October 15 when his tenure will come to an end.
