Nigerians have been advised to give adequate care to their eyes.
An Optometrist, Dr Beauty Uzoagwa stated this during an interview with journalists in commemoration of this year’s World Sight Day in Ibadan.
Dr Uzoagwu while speaking on the theme:” Love your eyes”,stressed the need for people to engage in routine check of their eyes with a view to preventing unforseen circumstances.
Mrs Uzoagwu pointed out that Visual impairment could be averted when prompt medical check is being carried on the eyes regularly.
The Medical expert,however enjoined people to desist from self medication , but rather visit eye experts for treatment to avoid complications.
World Sight Day is an annual event on every second Thursday of October to create awareness and draw global attention on vision impairment, including blindness.
