Hon. Kunle Balogun, the executive vice Chairman of the Ona Ara local government, has been placed on indefinite suspension.
The House Leader of the Council, Hon. Olapade Fatai, announced Balogun’s suspension during the plenary session of the lawmakers on Tuesday at the council secretariat.
The vice chairman, who is also the political head of the Inukan Local Council Development Area, was accused of being unreliable and incompetent.
According to the information gathered, Hon. Balogun has been accused of misappropriating funds intended for the development of some communities in the Inukan LCDA. He has also been accused of gross misconduct, public humiliation, and abuse of power.
The suspended Vice Chairman is too haughty to carry out his duties well, according to Hon. Olapade Fatai, the leader of the House, who spoke on the phone with newsmen.
The House leader claimed that the suspension was carried out in accordance with due process during the House session, 10 out of 11 councilors supported the motion to suspend.
