The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party,Alhaji ATIKU Abubakar says he would make the south west the industrial hub of Nigeria if elected as president in the February 25 2023 election.
He stated this while addressing PDP supporters at the ancient mapo hall lbadan during a campaign rally
However, governor seyi makinde who is a member of G-5 governor was absent at the event
Addressing the crowd, the Presidential candidate of PDP,Alhaji Atiku Abubakar said his government if given the opportunity would control the security situation in Nigeria as no development could take place in an atmosphere devoid of peace.
Alhaji Abubakar said his government is committed to the unity of Nigeria through inclusion of every zones of the country in governace.
He expressed gratitude to the state governor, Governor Seyi Makinde for creating an enabling environment and provide the needed support for the peaceful rally.
Also speaking,the PDP vice presidential candidate and the governor of Delta state,Dr Ifeanyi Okowa who urged the electorate in Oyo state to vote for all PDP candidates from top to bottom said the PDP is poised to rebuild Nigeria.
In a remark,the national chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu stated that the PDP had a dream for the country which he said was gradually bringing to bear.
The chairman urged all aggrieved members including the G-5 Governors led by Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike to return to the party to collectively to take the country to greater heights.
Other notable party bigwigs who spoke at the rally and canvasse votes for PDP from bottom to the top include the chairman of the presidential campaign council (PCC) Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom state, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state,Governor Ademola Adele, Alhaji Atiku’s wife, Mrs. Titilayo Abubakar, Senator Dino Melaye, and former Minister of state for FCT, Jumoke Akinjide, and others.
Reports say that the ancient Mapo, Ibadan, venue of the rally recorded large turn out of members of the PDP across the south west region.
