IGP Deploys New Police Commissioner To Ekiti For State Assembly Election
...Assures Citizens of Adequate Security
The Inspector General of Police, IGP, Mr USMAN ALKALI BABA has deployed Mr. Ajala Ayoola to Head Ekiti State Police Command for Saturday’s House of Assembly election across the twenty six constituencies in the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Ekiti State Command, DSP Sunday Abutu Confirmed this in a statement in Ado Ekiti.
Ajala Ayoola who assumed Office as a new police Commissioner for Ekiti House of Assembly Election was deployed to the state, following the Retirement of CP Moronkeji Adeshina who retired on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the new Commissioner of Police, Mr AYOOLA assures people of adequate security in order to ensure a free, fair and credible and safe election,
The statement maintains that security personnel has been deployed to all the nooks and crannies of the State to forestall any act of Lawlessness during the Assembly election in Ekiti.
It adds that Ekiti State Police Command is working in synergy with other relevant security agencies and the Independent National Electoral Commission to ensure a hitch free election.
The CP however orders restriction of vehicular movement across Ekiti from 12 am to 6 pm on election day with the exception of those on essential services such as INEC Officials, Electoral Observers, Ambulances responding to medical emergencies, firefighters, among others.
