Group Urges Oyo Residents To Troop Out Enmasse To Welcome Tinubu

A sociopolitical group, Better Oyo Movement (BOM) has charged residents of Oyo State, particularly those within Ibadan and its environs, to troop out to the ancient Mapo Hall, on Thursday, 16 February, 2023 to receive warmly, and participate excitedly, in the presidential campaign of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a release in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Wednesday, 15 February, 2023, the group noted that the place of Ibadan as the Southwest’s political capital, demands that its indigenes and residents, as a matter of honour and historic duty, be at the vanguard of pro-people policies and programmes, virtues the candidacy of Asiwaju Tinubu epitomizes.

BOM, whose release was signed by Dr. Femi Fakunle and Engr. Tunji Hammed, Chairman and Secretary respectively, equally commended Asiwaju Tinubu, for standing on the side of the people, at a time when political expediency and class survival demands otherwise.

“Asiwaju’s statements lampooning the cabal behind the current cash crunch and fuel scarcity is not only a bold move by a politician whose desire isn’t only winning at the polls, but also winning the hearts and minds of the people, as a true democrat and core progressive that he is, has advertised him as a man of the people.

“At a time when the opposition PDP, and the opportunistic LP are backing the poorly formulated and ill-conceived currency redesign policy which has heaped hardship on majority of Nigerians, not forgetting the neverending fuel scarcity, Asiwaju Tinubu, has taken the bull by the horns, speaking out courageously in the defence of the people, and in the promotion of the ideals of good governance.

“We like to affirm that history would be kind to the former Lagos governor, for putting the people first, at a time when calculating and election-concerned candidates like Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, directly or indirectly, have done otherwise,” the group said.

The group then urged the electorates to remember Saturday, 25 February, 2023 as the date when history would be made, as they vote Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, candidate of the APC as president.
