150 Agodi Inmates Graduate From Prisons Fellowship of Nigeria’s Eight Weeks Reformational Course

One hundred and fifty inmates serving jail terms In Agodi Correctional centre of the Nigeria Correctional Service, NCS, have graduated from an eight weeks intensify behavioral reformation course organized by the Prison Fellowship Nigeria, PFN , Oyo state chapter.

The inmates who could not hide their joy at the graduation ceremony held at the Agodi Prisons, Ibadan were seen dancing to a praise and worship session led by a team of singers from the inmates.

Newsarena.ng reports that the event held on Tuesday was the 14th graduation ceremony for inmates of correctional center, Agodi, Ibadan under “The Prisoner’s Journey” project of the Prison Fellowship of Nigeria.

This online news medium also reports that certificate of participation and gift items such as toiletries, Bibles and food items were presented to the graduants .

Speaking, Chairman, Prison Fellowship Nigeria, PFN , Oyo state chapter, Prophet Boyede Sule explained that the guesture was one of the many projects put in place by the group to actualize restoration, rehabilitation and reintegration of the inmates.

Prophet Sule further stated that the programme enables inmates to know Christ and engineers them to see themselves in the light of their creator .

He appealed to the inmates to make judicious use of the teachings and genuinely have a positive change of heart, for them to be useful after serving their jail term.

Reacting, Assistant Controller of Correction, Agodi correctional center, Ibadan, Mrs Oluwatosin Otubu pledged the commitment of the Nigeria Correctional Service to the welfare of inmates through public private partnership with a view to making life more meaningful for offenders in prison.

Mrs Otubu who appreciated the group for their various interventions at the Agodi Correctional center said the gesture would go a long way at Rehabilitating the inmates

Speaking on behalf of the inmates, Mr Sunday Fadayomi said the training has positively impacted on the lives of a larger percent of them.
