NSCDC Gives Assurance Of Adequate Protection Of INEC Facilities, Personnel In Oyo

As the general elections draws nearer, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, says has promised to safeguard all Independent National Electoral Commission’s facilities and the electoral materials.

The Commandant of NSCDC in oyo state, Mr Micheal Adaralewa stated this while briefing all Head of departments, Area Commanders, Unit heads and all operational heads of the command on the importance of achieving a crime free elections.

He noted that the command would also protect the personnel of the commission are well as INEC buildings and materials as they are of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure which is part of core mandate of NSCDC.

The NSCDC boss in oyo stated further that the training and retraining of officers and men of the Corps would commence in line with the electoral guidelines stated for the uniform personnel participating in the 2023 general elections in Nigeria.

He, therefore, charged officers and men of the commamd to be focused, disciplined and conduct themselves as well as not foiling the rules concerning fundamental human rights during the ongoing political campaigns and the election proper.

“If the 2023 general elections in the country goes well, it’s a plus to the Security Operations of the nation”

Commandant Adaralewa later enjoined the citizens of the State to join hands with all security agencies by providing the security agencies with adequate and timely information to protect them better.
