Odidiomo Lights Up Ibarapa With ₦29m Solar Streetlights, Donates ₦10m To Lanlate Muslim Community

In a major boost to community development, security, and grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2027 general elections, the candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) for Oyo South Senatorial District, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide Odidiomo, has delivered 1,000 solar powered streetlights valued at N29 million to dark spots and vulnerable communities across the Ibarapa zone.

The landmark intervention comes alongside a separate 10 million naira financial support donated to the Lanlate muslim community to assist with local central mosque infrastructure and community development initiatives. The dual delivery has solidified the lawmaker’s growing political footprint across the Ibarapa agrarian belt, securing overwhelming support from voters and community leaders across Igangan, Idere, Lanlate, and Igboora.

The installation of the solar streetlights directly fulfills a firm pledge made by the federal lawmaker during a high level APM Ibarapa zonal reconciliation and strategy meeting held in the region recently.

Speaking during the official handover, Hon. Olajide Odidiomo, who currently represents Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West federal constituency of Oyo state in the House of Representatives, reiterated that his senatorial bid is driven by visible, tangible projects rather than electoral rhetoric. He emphasized that illuminating dark corridors across Ibarapa Central, Ibarapa North, and Ibarapa East will curb criminal activities, enhance public safety, and stimulate commercial activities for local traders and night market vendors.

Presenting the 10 million naira donation to Islamic leaders and stakeholders in Lanlate, shortly after the Friday Jumat service, the APM senatorial flagbearer commended the community for sustaining peace, religious harmony and civic unity. He assured the gathering that his legislative representation in the Red Chamber will institutionalize equitable resource allocation, ensuring that the developmental needs of the Ibarapa zone receive equal priority alongside the Ibadan urban core.
