Association Of Resident Doctors at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, have begun a three-day warning strike on Monday 12th October, 2026.
The Association Of Resident Doctors, University College Hospital, Ibadan reached the decision to down tools during an emergency general meeting held virtually to deliberate on a gruelling nine-month electricity blackout plaguing the college of medicine residential axis.

According to the association, led by Dr Uthman Adedeji, healthcare workers in the zone have faced severe hardship due to prolonged epileptic power supply.

The association lamented that inter-institutional bottlenecks between the college of medicine of the University Of Ibadan and the UCH management, have affected the students negatively.
It said the persistent blackout had also triggered water shortage, forcing doctors to trek long distances, patronise private business centres, and pay out of pocket to transport water for basic survival.
The association appealed to management of UCH to urgently address the issue of the epileptic power supply affecting health workers.
