According to reports, nine members of the same family have reportedly perished in Nagazi, Adavi Local Government, Kogi State.
They consist of four additional people and five of the same parents’ offspring.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Monday night and resulted in the deaths of five family members at the scene before four others were taken to the hospital.
Sources told our correspondent that the remaining four later died at an undisclosed hospital in the area.
This occurs just a few days after four family members passed away in the Kogi State community of Mopa, MopaAmuro LGA, following a weekend meal of “amala.”
In contrast to the MopaAmuro death, it was not immediately known if the family had eaten anything prior to the death’s arrival, but a source suspects a high likelihood of food poisoning.
The mother of the deceased victims was still receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital, according to a family source who wished to remain anonymous. The father, however, had been arrested.
All efforts to speak with the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, William Aya, proved abortive as of the time of filing this report.
