The Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, has empowered women across the ten wards of the local government with cash support as part of his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare and economic well-being of residents.
The empowerment programme took place on Tuesday at the Chairman’s Conference Room, where 50 beneficiaries from the 10 wards received 50,000 naira financial assistance to support their livelihoods and small-scale economic activities.

Speaking during the programme, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo reaffirmed his administration’s determination to promote inclusive development and ensure that women, who play a vital role in the economic and social development of the local government, are not left behind.

The council boss noted that the initiative was designed to provide immediate financial relief while also enabling beneficiaries to strengthen their businesses, support their families, and improve their standard of living.
Hon Adeojo further assured residents that his administration would continue to introduce people-oriented programmes and initiatives that directly impact the lives of the people at the grassroots.
The beneficiaries, drawn from the 10 political wards of Ido Local Government, expressed their appreciation to the Council’s helmsman for the gesture, describing the empowerment as timely and impactful.
They commended his administration for prioritising women’s welfare and demonstrating commitment to grassroots development.
The empowerment initiative is another step in the administration’s efforts to promote economic inclusion, alleviate hardship, and create opportunities for residents across Ido Local Government.
