INEC Extends Deadline For Collection of Permanent Voter Cards In Osun

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has extended the on-going collection of Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs at registration areas in Osun State by three days following complaints and large crowds at collection centres.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Head of Department, Voter Education, Publicity, Gender and Inclusivity, Mr Ariyo Rufus on behalf of the Osun State Resident Electoral commissioner.

The commission disclosed that a total of 322,822 Permanent Voter Cards, representing 62 percent of the available PVCs, had been collected during the exercise.

According to the commission, the extension became necessary following complaints from members of the public, large crowds at collection centres and other challenges encountered during the exercise.

INEC said PVC collection at registration areas would now continue until Friday, July 31, 2026, to enable more eligible voters to exercise their civic rights.

The commission noted that the extension would not affect the next phase of the exercise, as PVC collection at local government area offices would still commence from August 1 to August 7, 2026.

INEC urged all registered voters who are yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards to take advantage of the extension and obtain their PVCs before the deadline.
