2027: Irepo, Oorelope, Olorunsogo Agog As APM Loyalists Welcome Guber Candidate, Adekanmbi, Running Mate
The gubernatorial candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Oyo State, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, alongside his running mate, Engr. Muftau Open-Salawu, on Tuesday took the party’s Thank You Tour to Igboho, where they met with leaders, stakeholders and members from Irepo, Oorelope and Olorunsogo Local Government Areas.
The visit attracted a large gathering of party faithful who turned out in high spirits to welcome the APM standard-bearer and his delegation, reaffirming their loyalty to the party and their commitment to its vision ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Addressing the gathering, Adekanmbi expressed heartfelt appreciation to party leaders, executives and supporters for the overwhelming confidence and support they demonstrated throughout the party’s governorship nomination process.
He described the mandate he received as a collective victory for every committed member of the APM, noting that the success of the party depends on the dedication and sacrifices of its grassroots members.
The governorship candidate urged party members to remain united and focused, stressing that unity, discipline and mutual respect remain the foundation upon which the APM will achieve greater electoral success.
He appealed to members to avoid actions capable of creating division within the party, while encouraging them to continue working together with a shared commitment to building a better Oyo State.
Adekanmbi also assured members that his administration, if elected, would be driven by the principles of fairness, equity and inclusiveness.
According to him, every member of the party, irrespective of position or background, would have a sense of belonging in the affairs of government.
Reaffirming his commitment to participatory leadership, the APM flag bearer pledged that critical decisions affecting both the party and government would be made through broad consultations with leaders, stakeholders and the people rather than through unilateral decisions.
He added that his administration would prioritize grassroots engagement, strengthen local governance and implement people-oriented policies aimed at accelerating development across all parts of Oyo State.
In his remarks, the deputy governorship candidate, Engr. Muftau Open-Salawu, appreciated party members for their unwavering support and urged them to sustain the momentum as the party intensifies preparations for the 2027 elections.
The event ended on a high note as party leaders and supporters from Irepo, Oorelope and Olorunsogo LGAs reaffirmed their commitment to the APM, expressing confidence in the Adekanmbi/Open-Salawu ticket and pledging to work collectively towards securing victory for the party in the next governorship election.
