Hijrah 1448 AH: Ido LG Chairman, Adeojo Prays for Peace, Progress As Muslims Commemorate Islamic New Year
The Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government Area, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, has extended his warmest felicitations to the Muslim Ummah in the council area, Oyo State, and across Nigeria on the occasion of the Islamic New Year, Hijrah 1448 AH.

In a statement released on Tuesday to mark the commencement of the new Islamic calendar, Hon. Adeojo described the Hijrah as a profound historic milestone that symbolizes resilience, sacrifice, and the pursuit of positive change.

He urged Muslims to use the holy season to deeply reflect on the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and embody the values of tolerance, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence.

The council chairman emphasized that true development can only thrive in an atmosphere of absolute peace.
He commended the people of Ido Local Government for their steadfast cooperation and called for continuous prayers for peace across the state.
“The Islamic New Year provides us with a fresh opportunity to renew our commitment to God and our community. I urge all Muslim faithful and residents of other faiths to continuously pray for sustained peace, unity, and economic stability in Ido Local Government and our dear Oyo State.”
Hon. Adeojo further lauded the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his inclusive administration and his decision to declare a work-free day to honor the spiritual significance of the day, noting that such moves strengthen unity among the diverse residents of the state.
