Hon. Oyekunle made this known in a Democracy Day statement personally signed by him on Friday, where he extended his warm felicitations to the newly elected leaders following the successful reconstitution of the Minority Leadership through a consensus arrangement among opposition parties represented in the Green Chamber.

The newly constituted leadership saw Rep. Frederick Agbedi (PDP, Bayelsa) emerge as Minority Leader, Rep. Abdussamad Dasuki (ADC, Sokoto) as Deputy Minority Leader, Rep. Mansur Manu Soro (APM, Bauchi) as Minority Whip, while Rep. George Ozodinobi (NDC, Anambra) retained his position as Deputy Minority Whip.

Hon. Oyekunle stated that the development further underscores the importance of dialogue, consensus building and inclusive participation in sustaining democratic institutions.

According to him, “Democracy thrives where there is respect for differing opinions, constructive opposition and commitment to national progress. The emergence of the new Minority Leadership through consensus demonstrates the enduring strength of our democratic culture and parliamentary tradition.”
