Oyo Accord Executives Congratulate Party’s Governorship Candidate, Kunle Busari Over Victory At Primary Election 

The Oyo State Working Committee of ACCORD under its Chairman, Prince Kolade Ojo and the State Secretary, Hon. Olayinka Dairo has congratulated the party’s governorship candidate for 2027 general election, Hon. Kunle Busari on his victory during the primary election.


The legally recognized ACCORD governorship primary election was conducted at Ibadan Business School, Bodija, Ibadan.

The election, which was orderly and peaceful was held in the presece of officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), Security personnel including the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Security, (DSS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, (NSCDC) and the Election and Party Monitoring, (EPM), led by Dr Keshinro, ACCORD National Secretary, Hon. (Dr) Adebukola Ajaja with massive turnout of party members.

This is contained in a statement signed in Ibadan by Prince Ojo and Hon. Dairo on behalf of the ACCORD State executives and bonafide party members.

They described the victory of Hon. Busari as a triumph of collective will over selfish and inordinate ambition for political office.

The party leadership equally noted that the presence of notable stakeholders and recognition of Hon. Kunle Busari by the electoral umpire Kunle validate the exercise and distinguish it from the kangaroo arrangement.

“We are using this medium to felicitate the authentic ACCORD governorship candidate. This is victory for us”, they said.

According to them, “ACCORD will always uphold internal democracy, party supremacy and popular interests, above personal whims”.

The party executives pointed out that the claim of sole candidacy is alien, and ACCORD is averse to undemocratic practice, stressing that worthy aspirant should test his/her popularity among the party delegates before the general election, as it is the political norm.

They expressed confidence that Hon. Kunle Busari’s name will appear on INEC list as the governorship flag bearer of ACCORD in Oyo State for 2027.

Prince Ojo and Hon. Dairo commended the party supporters for making the process a model for other parties to emulate, urging them not to relent in their efforts to mobilise the electorate for the party to win the Governorship and House of Assembly election.
