Alhaji Ali-Modu Sheriff, a former governor of Borno State, and Olusegun Obasanjo, a former president, had a private meeting at the Presidential Library residence in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun state.
The former governor revealed that his contact with the former president was private in remarks made following the encounter, which lasted more than forty minutes.
The former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP also refrained from commenting on important subjects and refused to answer any queries.
Some claim that because he indicated his party’s intention to win the election, his visit may not have been unrelated to the general elections in 2023, which are drawing near.
