Governor Makinde Gets Monarch’s Nod For Respect Of Traditional Institution

Oba Joel Olalere Olawuwo, The Alepata of Igboho, has reaffirmed the Oyo State Traditional Council’s commitment to backing Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration and stated that he has the utmost regard for the monarchs.

The Oyo Traditional Rulers are appreciative of the Governor’s specific attention to traditional rulers around the state, according to the Monarch, who spoke over the weekend.

In Igboho town, Oyo State, he made this statement while speaking to members of the Binukonu Food Sellers Association.

Governor Makinde, according to Oba Olalere Olawuwo, has continued to treat the state’s traditional leaders with the utmost respect. He also says that by allowing them to participate in governance, traditional leaders can hasten development and advance culture.

The Monarch outlined how elites and the political class might follow Governor Seyi Makinde’s example by giving the traditional institution top priority if they wanted Yorubaland to receive the proper prominence it deserves in Nigeria.

He went on to say that Governor Makinde had built numerous towns and villages as a result of his people-oriented programs, emphasizing that they will continue to support sound governance in the state as a result.

Oba Olawuwo who identified many infrastructural projects of the state government under the leadership of Governor Makinde stressed the need for every resident of the state to team up with the governor in his repositioning effort.

Oba Olawuwo appealed to Gov Seyi Makinde to assist members of the association by giving financial aid to members of the group, so as to expand their various businesses.

Also addressing members of Binukonu foodstuffs sellers association, the Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun, said the current government being led by Governor Makinde will not relent in giving people value for their votes at all times.

The Commissioner stated that traditional institutions remain major stakeholders through which the state government is connecting with the people in meeting their yearnings.

Members of the association who were all at the Igboho city hall, venue of the inauguration, with their permanent voters’ card (PVC), urged the state government to assist them financially so as to improve their socio economic growth.
