The National President General of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Mr. Akeem Ambali has emphasized the importance of preserving the legacy of NULGE’s founding fathers
Comrade Ambali stated this during the official commissioning of the national secretariat complex, nulas house at idi orogbo,New Adeoyo road, ring road, Ibadan.

Mr Ambali, who also serves as the national treasurer of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), stressed that celebrating and keeping the struggles and legacies of NULGE’s heroes is crucial for the development of grassroots communities across Nigeria believing would strengthen the knowledge of future generations.
“Nulge national wide started in Ibadan, and it’s was then called Nigeria local government staff,Nulas, commissioning this edifice today would contribute to history and educate the younger generation of the struggles and victories of the heroes past, Today would not be forgotten in the history of the union in Oyo state even in the country as a whole”
While highlighting the significance of this edifice,former state president of NULGE and NLC, Dr. Basir Olanrewaju said The newly commissioned NULAS House will serve as a museum showcasing local government history in Nigeria and a guest house for past and current leaders of the union.
“The secretariat shall serve as a museum where present and past history shall be kept,if today history is not kept the future is at risk and the mistake of the past is not evitable,we appreciate the executive of nulge in Oyo state for this initiative ”
The state president of NULGE in Oyo State,Mr Adeogun Abayomi, commended the national body of the union and acknowledged the edifice’s connection to the former Nigeria Union of Local Government Staff (NULAS), which gave birth to the present NULGE.
“We appreciate the present administration led by president Bola Tinubu for implementation of local government autonomy,is a way of making the divided of democracy functional in the grassroots as it is written in 1999 constitution of Nigeria,”I appreciate the support of all the members of nulge at the national and state level for making today a success
“As the president of nulge in Oyo state I promised that the 16 rooms secretariat is open for all members and it’s will also serves as source of income for the union”
Mr Adeogun also expressed appreciation for President Bola Tinubu’s administration, which has prioritized local government development, promoting grassroots growth nationwide.
