Éric Chelle’s first game in charge of the Super Eagles of Nigeria has ended in Victory over the Amavubi of Rwanda.
Victor Osimhen’s Brace in the first half was enough to give Nigeria a two goal win in a crucial World cup qualifying game at the Stade Amahoro in Kigali.

Osimhen connected superbly to Ademola Lookman’s free kick in the 11th minute to give the Super Eagles the lead before chipping in a second just before the halftime whistle as Chelle oversaw a comfortable victory in his first game in charge.
It was also Nigeria’s first win in the 2026 World cup qualifiers, having drawn 3 and lost one in their previous 4 matches.
Nigeria now sits 4th in Group C with 6 points and would face Zimbabwe on Tuesday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
South Africa top the Group with 10 points, Benin Republic sits second with 8 points, while Rwanda are third with 7 points.
