The Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology (OYSCATECH), Igboora on Friday, January 10, 2025 played host to the National University’s Commission (NUC) for Resource Assessment Visit to new programmes as an affiliate Institution to the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).
The seven programmes which were presented for resource assessment included; B. Sc. Computer Science, B.Sc. Statistics, B Agric. in Agriculture, B. Engr. Agricultural Engineering and Technology, B. Sc. Chemistry, B. Sc. Microbiology and BFWM, Forestry and Wildlife Management.
The NUC Team which arrived Abeokuta on Thursday January 9, 2025 paid a courtesy to the Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Prof. Olusola Babatunde Kehinde and the Management of the Institution.
The Rector, Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology (OYSCATECH), Igboora, Prof. Akinola Akinlabi, together with Deans, Directors and Heads of Departments from OYSCATECH also joined the Management of FUNAAB in welcoming the NUC team.
The FUNAAB Vice-Chancellor revealed that the essence of collaboration with OYSCATECH and Federal College of Agriculture, Moore plantation is to expand accessibility to higher education and make programmes available to students who are willing to pursue their dreams of higher degrees.
The NUC Team which thereafter proceeded to the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora for resource assessment in company of FUNAAB Team led by Prof. Emmanuel Eden, the FUNAAB Coordinator of Degree programmes in OYSCATECH were conducted round the facilities at Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora .
Receiving the NUC Team, The OYSCATECH Rector commended the FUNAAB Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olusola Babatunde Kehinde, for approving the collaboration with Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora as an affiliate College of FUNAAB.
The Rector equally thanked the National University’s Commission (NUC) for the Resource Assessment Visitation.
Prof. Akinlabi expressed joy that upon the NUC’s approval of the seven programmes, graduates of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora and people within the environment who yearn for University education will enjoy the opportunity as soon as the seven programmes are approved by the NUC.
Earlier, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olukayode Dewumi Akinyemi who represented the Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Prof. Olusola Babatunde Kehinde during their visit ahead of the resource assessment visitation to OYSCATECH commended the Rector of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora, Prof. Akinola Akinlabi for his landmark achievements during his two years stay as the Rector of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora.
The NUC team also visited the Federal College of Agriculture, Moore Plantation, Ibadan for the Resource Assessment of B.Sc. Home Science and Management and B. Agric.
