Rwanda Shock Super Eagles At Home, Fail To Qualify For AFCON

Already qualified Super Eagles of Nigeria suffered a 2-1 loss to Rwanda in their last match of the 2025 African cup of Nations, AFCON qualifiers.

The match played at the Godswill Akpabio stadium, Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, saw Nigeria take the lead in the 59th minute through Samuel Chukwueze.

However, two quick fire goals in the 72nd and 75th minutes gave Rwanda a 2-1 lead.

Despite the loss, Nigeria maintained their top spot in Group D with 11 points, while Benin Republic finished second with 8 points.

Rwanda ended third on the table with 8 points while Libya finished bottom of the group with 5 points.
