Ekiti State Government has announced indefinite suspension of the Principal of Ekiti Baptist High School, Igede Ekiti, Mrs Veronica Ilesanmi for unauthorized release of the school’s playing ground for a social engagement.
In a statement in Ado Ekiti, the Permanent Secretary Teaching Service Commission, Mr Michael Boluwade said the principal was sanctioned for allowing the use of the school facility in flagrant disregard for the State Government’s Guidelines of 2014.
According to the Permanent Secretary, the guidelines prohibited the use of facilities in public schools in Ekiti State for any kind of social engagement.
Mr Boluwade therefore directed Mrs Ilesanmi to hand-over all the school’s properties in her possession to the Vice Principal of the school with immediate effect.
He also advised the erring principal not to visit the school premises during the period of her suspension.
