Ibarapa East LG Boss, Arogundade Swings Into Action As Heavy Rain Cuts Off Over 50 Villages In Eruwa

In what that can be described as swift reaction, the Executive Chairman of Ibarapa East Local Government, Hon. Kazeem Arogundade has swung into action over the heavy rain that wreaked havoc in Eruwa and it’s environs on Friday 11th October, 2024 through Saturday morning.
Hon. Arogundade, who visited the collapsed bridge along Old Eruwa -Ibadan road, admonished the residents of the town and Ibarapa people at large not to toy with river and move away from dumping refuse into the water channels.
He stressed that his priorities were to provide excellent infrastructural facilities to the people of Ibarapa East Local Government, adding that the action would be taken on the damaged bridge as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, residents of Eruwa town in Ibarapa East Local Government of Oyo State have earlier called on Oyo State Government led by Gov.Seyi Makinde and the Executive Chairman of Ibarapa East Local Government, Hon. Kazeen Arogundade to expedite action on averting flooding which has caused more hardship for the people of the area.
It is a common knowledge that nobody could prevent rain from falling during its season but the rain which fell on Friday 11th October, 2024 through Saturday morning was unprecedented
While addressing newsman Mr Olukayode Adegoke, a resident of Eruwa expressed displeasure over the damage caused by the heavy rain most especially the Ipin river along Old- Eruwa -Ibadan road which has cut the river into two.
He said that the road led to about 50 villages apart from the main road where people do earn their living.
He attributed the incident to tipper people who do pack sounds illegally as the major cause of the havoc and he advised the local government authority of Ibarapa East to enact a law that would prohibit those tipper people from packing sands along the road.
