The Peoples Democratic Party , PDP in Osun State has announced 17th and 19th August, 2024, as the dates for the conduct of primaries for candidates vying for the posts of councillors and Chairmen in the upcoming Local Government polls in the state.
The State PDP Chairman, Mr. Sunday Bisi disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Osogbo.
Mr. Bisi said the primary election would be held in the 332 wards across the state.
He emphasized that the primary is being held to determine chairmanship and councilorship candidates in the constitutionally recognised 30 local government council areas across the state.
The Osun PDP Chairman urged aspirants and their supporters to cooperate with the electoral officers and the security operatives who are scheduled to oversee the primaries.
Mr. Bisi warned that the State Working Committee of the party would not treat any act of violence during or after the exercise with kid gloves.
He added that the leadership of the party has put necessary measures in place to ensure a smooth exercise, in line with the directive of the Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke .
