Anti Hunger Protest Day 2: Situation Report In Ibadan

As the Nationwide Protest enters its second Day, Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital on Friday was relatively calm as residents go about their lawful activities.

Radio Nigeria correspondent who monitored the situation observed that in areas like Iwo Road, Ìdí Àpe, Agodi Gate, Mokola Roundabout, and Dugbe, Schools, Commercial Banks and some Malls were shut, while some markets opened for business, including Filling Stations.

Unlike Thursday, the first day of the protest, where majority of people were indoors and the streets deserted, traders and many people were seen going about their normal activities without disruption.

Major points particularly Newspaper Stands at Mokola and Iwo Road were filled with people discussing happenings in other parts of the country.

Despite the calmness, Security Personnel such as Officers and Men of Nigerian Army, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Nigeria Police and Amotekun Corps were on Standby monitoring human and vehicular activities to ensure maintenance of law and order.
