Justice Gbolagunte of Oyo State High Court Dies As Speaker, Ogundoyin Expresses Condolence

The Oyo Speaker, Adebo Ogundoyin, has expressed his condolences over the death of Justice Adegboye Ayinla Gbolagunte of the Oyo State High Court, who passed away at the age of 64 after a protracted illness.

Justice Gbolagunte’s death occurred on Monday, 24th June, 2024.

The late justice Gbolagunte was one of the sons of late Chief Davidson Mokolade Gbolagunte who was an elected UPN member for Ibarapa I Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly and later became the Speaker.

Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin described the demise of the legal luminary as a great loss to the judiciary, Oyo state and indeed Eruwaland.

” My heartfelt condolences go out to the entire family of late Justice Adegboyega Ayinla Gbolagunte. Eruwaland has lost another illustrious son whose family has continued to impact our community positively. He was an exceptional jurist, a pillar of justice, and a shining star in the legal profession.

” His dedication to upholding the law and serving the people of Oyo State will never be forgotten. May the fond memories of his life, legacy, and accomplishments bring comfort and peace to Gbolagunte’s family and our community at large.

While condoling with the family of the deceased, the Speaker praised Justice Gbolagunte’s contributions to the development of the state’s judiciary, saying that his death has left a huge vacuum in the state’s judiciary.
