Alfa Taofeek, a well-known point of sale operator in Ado Ekiti, was killed by gunmen in the early hours of Thursday.
The victim’s shop, which was next to the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital’s gate in Ado Ekiti, was where the sad event occurred.
Alfa Taofeek was shot and killed by the gunmen who arrived on a motorcycle, and fled with his money and other belongings.
Newsmen were informed by an anonymous source that Alfa had just opened his store after leaving his children off at school when the men from the underworld attacked.
Because of the bread display on his car, Alfa Taofeek has gained a lot of local recognition.
When contacted, Mr. Sunday Abutu, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Ekiti State Command, acknowledged the event and stated that an inquiry had commenced.
However, just few hours after the first event, there was another tragedy in Ado Ekiti when gunmen murdered a rice vendor.
According to report, the men, who were on a motorbike, shot and killed the wheel barrow pusher.
The development forced traders and passersby to flee for safety.
The market has been deserted as those who spoke to newsmen said they would not return to the market for now.
Efforts to get the reaction of the police did not yield any result as at the time of this report, as spokesperson for the Ekiti State state police command, Mr Sunday Abutu failed to pick his phone.
Recall that two gunmen on motorcycle had on Tuesday this week shot dead a ticketer of the Okada Riders Association, Omoyajowo Samuel at Okesa Area of Ado Ekiti.
