Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old woman, Temitope Adetanju for allegedly inserting a piece of firewood into the private part of a 12-year-old girl in Isewo, Obada Oko, Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The victim was accused of stealing a biscuit worth 200 naira, Milo worth 150 naira and Mr. Fruit worth 300 naira.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola l confirmed the arrest of the woman in a statement in Abeokuta.
She said that the child was allegedly subjected to severe physical torture by her guardian due to her stealing habit.
Odutola stated that the suspect admitted to committing the crimes she was accused of, adding that investigations were ongoing to ensure that all aspects of the incident were thoroughly.
