Petrol cost per litre hits N1,500 in some parts of Oyo town on Wednesday as more filling stations opened to attend to customers.
Kayode Oguntona who monitored the situation in the ancient city reported that queues of vehicles and motorcycles were longer at the few stations selling for N1000 per litre.
Motorists who suspected hoarding of the product called on government to raise a special task force that would restore sanity to the activities of erring dealers.
They urged government not to hesitate to seal any filling station found hoarding the product, saying it would serve as deterrent to others wanting to engage in the wicked act.
Meanwhile, many commuters have resorted to trekking long distances as a result of hike in transport fare and few commercial motorcyclists playing the road.
