Makinde Approves N2bn For Sacked Oyo LG Chairmen
The Oyo state Governor, Seyi Makinde has approval the sum of two billion naira as part payment of allowances to sacked local government Chairmen in the state.
Governor Makinde revealed this at the funeral and thanksgiving service for late Madam Ruth Adenihun Dare, mother of Former minister of Youths and Sport development, Sunday Dare held at Sabo Baptist Church, Ogbomosho.
Governor Makinde who enjoined political loyalists that political gladiators are not worth dying for, said they know how to settle their scores behind the scene.
The Governor also revealed that his administration will during inauguration, name ongoing Ogbomosho to Iseyin 78.5km Road project, in honour of late Governor Adebayo Alao Akala.
Speaking with newsmen, legal counsel to the sacked local government Chairmen, Niyi Akintola, SAN, commended Governor Makinde for allowing rule of law to prevailed.
Recall that local government Chairmen who were elected during late Governor Abiola Ajimobi second term in office have been engaged in legal battle with Governor Makinde since he sacked them when he came to office in 2019.
