Oyo state chairman, Road Transport Employer Association of Nigeria, Com. Kamorudeen Idowu Owogesi has directed all members of the association across the state to get their permanent voters card, PVC before the expiration of the exercise.
He also said it was mandatory for them to compel their family members to do same before the closure of the continuous voters registration
Com. Idowu gave the directive in Ibadan during a courtesy visit on the Oyo state, Chairman, Nigeria Association of Road Transport Owners, NARTO, Alhaji Adeniran Isiaq Adio popularly called P.K.A in his office.
The Oyo RTEAN chairman said the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC was nice enough to extend the deadline of the exercise to allow eligible voters register, noting that it was unacceptable for any member not to register and get the PVC
He said RTEAN members across the state are being mobilized to vote massively in the 2023 general election, calling on all members to make it as a point of duty to get their PVCs ready.
“We’re mobilizing our members for the 2023 general elections and we’re doing so by sensitizing them on the importance of exercising their franchise as a Nigerian. I’m therefore directing our members across Oyo state to get registered, get their PVCs ready and it is mandatory that their families too have their PVC”
“This is the weapon we have to vote-in our preferred candidates and we are determined to use it.”
Com. Idowu Owogesi also said RTEAN in Oyo state was ready to partner INEC on the transportation of both men and electoral materials on election day.
Also Speaking, Chairman NATO Alhaji Adeniran Isiaq Adio commended the long standing relationship between the two associations and called on members of both unions to comport themselves in an orderly manner before, during and after the general elections
