Residents Lament Deplorable Condition Of Ibadan Roads, Urges Makinde To Declare State Of Emergency (VIDEOS)
Amidst groaning and harrowing experience by the residents of Ibadan over deplorable state of roads, motorists have again called on the State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde to declare State of Emergency on Ibadan Roads.
From City councils; Ibadan North, Ibadan North East, Ibadan South East, Ibadan Northwest and Ibadan Southwest and less city councils in Egbeda, Akinyele, Lagelu, Oluyole, Ona-Ara and Ido local government areas, people now lament, expressing their displeasure against the level of damage roads within the metropolis.
During a phone-in call programme on a popular radio station monitored in Ibadan over the weekend, callers across Ibadanland mentioned close to 50 roads that have become almost impassable with potholes dotting everywhere.

Some of these roads mentioned by residents of the city included but not limited to Anfani road, off ring-road; Eleyele junction and Eleyele-Ologuneru road Adetokun junction; Aromalaran to Oke ‘badan, Oremeji-Agugu, Padre to Ode-Aje-Aremo-Adekile.

Others mentioned were the Olodo bridge; ongoing Olorunsogo-Akanran road that was said to have recorded slow pace of works; Abayomi to Rose Wale Iwo road; Aromolaran to Iyana-Church.
Others included Mokola roundabout-Sango road precisely at Uncle Joe bus stop area; Sango-Eleyele road; amongst many others.

The anchor and the callers were unanimous that the State Government should be urged to declare a state of emergency on all Ibadan roads to save lives and property of the people and ensure a leap in the economy of the city.
Some other callers blamed the Works Commissioner, Professor Kehinde Shangodoyin for not doing enough of supervision to ensure that the ongoing road projects were completed in line with contractual agreement signed with the State Government.
